I don't think that would be a problem, but not being at all familiar with
audio equipment, so I could be wrong. There's CF out there that supports
600X write speeds and also support UDMA. I have a Transcend 8GB CF that
gets 25MB/s sustained write speeds.

Got an oscope?
You need an RC time constant that will integrate this a bit.
In a TV, the integrator must combine the closely-spaced stuff
during the vertical sync pulse interval to make one fat pulse.
Your task is similar.
If you make the time constant *too* long,
the intervals between cylinders will be joined up;
**that** is what you need to figure out how to avoid.
Surely you've seen pictures of how a power supply filter
slurs one (sinusoidal) peak into the next.
Similar deal there.
You need to characterize what you have
and/or do some trial-and-error runs.

RC filters are common in audio as well.
I already mentioned power supply filters
and their similarity to this application.

I'm trying to repair a cheap alarm clock with an LCD display.
(I know this isn't worth my time but at this point I'm more
curious...)
A few segments of the LCD are not working and when I press the
conductive tape that connects the LCD to the board, it starts to
work. OK a bad connection.
But am trying to buy a piece of this conductive tape and I can't find
it anywhere even described on the Internet.
It seems like ordinary scotch adhesive tape but with conductive ink
tracks. It is 1.5mm pitch and has 28 conductors. It is simply stuck
onto the lip of the LCD and the PWB.
It's not zebra strip.
It's not flexible flat cable FFC which is actual wire.
This stuff is actually adhesive tape with conductive (black) ink.
What is this stuff called so I can search for it?
Anybody seen it for sale anywhere?
thanks

Can you remove the tape, and clean it and the board contacts? If so, that
might be all that's needed.

Why not just arrange a piece of fairly stiff foam to press on it just
like your finger does?

Thanks. I"ll keep my eyes open. The original remotes still work and I
haven't lost them yet, but it's good to know.
Thanks, Michael, also.
Actually and interestingly, my 80 dollar DISH TV AtoD converter, the
most expensive I came across, hasn't worked well from the start. The
Green power light on the box goes on without my doing anything, but
the box isn't working after all. And I can't turn it "off" with the
remote control, and there are no buttons on the box itself. I can
unplug it, but when I plug it back in, the green light is on, but
after 10 or 15 seconds it goes off. I'm used to this now, but still.
There are no garage door openers around here, or remotes shining in my
window. Only once every month or so, and I guess it's less often now.

We have a Bosch WFL2260 washing machine which has recently stopped
spinning. I presume the brushes are worn and need replacing?
I have removed the motor from the washing machine and inspected both
brushes. There is about 1cm left on each side.
Before I order new brushes, is there a way to verify that the motor is
not faulty with it disconnected?
Thank you.

Arfa,
Thank you for the suggestions.
I tried both, neither worked out for me.
The DVD doesn't spin up and the laser doesn't move. It isn't like the
power supply is totally dead since the WELCOME appears and the fan runs.
I will try any ideas anyone may have.
Thanks again

A light leak, or a dirty corona wire, can do something like this.
Light leaks usually mean a case part is not closed properly.
The corona wire has a HV connection and is usually reachable (on
some models it's in the printer, on some it's part of the cartridge).
Alcohol on a cotton swab is appropriate.
