Seems to me you believe 100% of everything you watch on the TV and read in the papers is bullshit.

I use common sense. If the story doesn't fit, it is usualy shit. This fits.

There is alot. Assad did not uise the gas. (per Porton Donw in Britian, experts and suppliers of such things) Saddam's WMDs were in the Iraqi banks, billions of USDs waiting to flood the market after he switched to the euro. (they showed that on TV but forgot to mention the switch to the euro) Venezuea getting the jump on Germany to get their gold back from "safekeeping" in the US, now Germany is shortchanged. Oh sure, the story has been "debunked" but tell me why it is going to take YEARS to ship it back ? Didn't take anywhere near that long to ship TO the US.

Did they tell you what happened to Rhodesia ? It has now come out because it is a total basketcase, but back then it was oh so grand that they had a Black President finallly and White oppressuon had ended. Yeah right. Mugabe took the farmland and gave it to the blacks and now they went from being practically the breadbasket of the region to being worse than a third world country, because they COULD have it. they do not have the excuse of being in the desert.

What else neverhappened ? The virus they put in milk now to prolong its shelf life ? (it infects the bacteria that makes it sour) Oh no, can't believe they would ever do such a thing, BUT, take and let some milk out (in the US only) and see if it sours. It does not sour, it goes bitter now. That is tangible folks cause you can do the experiment yourself. Of course when we all die off nobody is going to remember how regular sour milk used to smell or taste.

Anyway, it it is foolish to doubt that these electrical shocks and worse actually happen(ed). The only thing you can reasonably doubt is my assertion that a MONOPOLY deemed it worth it to have a great advertising campaign right after he incident. You can think I made it up, or that is was my perception or misperception. You can up and down about how there is no proof. Damn, it is hard to get news from that era, now I have to get the full page nespaper ads and TV commercials ? Of course you can't get all that shit.

So it never happened ? You actually beleive that a company will not spend money on damage control after their negilence kills someone ?

Anyone can believer disbelieve any damn thing they want. I mak those decisions on a sound basis. DOES IT MAKE SENSE ?

One of the biggest mistakes people make are to consider the source but not the content. I'll go to certain sites considered "crackpot" but then I take names and go to Google or whatever and find other sources. Soetimes they are there, other times not so much. Also, some of my source are proven right at a later date.

Does everyone know that the US is responsible for the Iatolla Khomeni gaining power in Iran, and caused most of this fucking problem ? The US CAUSED Iran to become the theocratic nightmare it is today, (by deposing Mosadeq)we became the great Satan, back in 1952. In 1979, those were not hostages. The US was harboring a fugitive, alot worse than Assange or Snowden.

But I am learning to allow the ignorant to remain ignorant. Sow but sure.

Hi,

like myself, some of you regularly do repairs to guitar amps - right ?

So you must have come across speakers fitted to combo amps from Fender and Peavey ( maybe others too) that have detached terminal blocks.

I just fixed *both* speakers in a Peavey " Clasic 50 " where the terminal blocks were hanging loose because both rivets had popped their tops.

The rivets are made of Aluminium with a flat top and hollow point inside the frame - the tops simply part company with the shaft of the rivet at about 10 years age.

My fix is to trim the rivets flush with nippers, punch them out of the frame and replace with 3.5mm bolts, nuts, star and plain washers and a drop of super glue. The bolt is fed from the inside with the plain washer on the outside.

Never had to do such a crazy thing before with any speaker - owners never seem to notice what has happened and find my story hard to believe.

Comments?

I generally replace them with a fresh through hole rivet and coated
with panama red, to insure protective coating and vibration free to
reduce fatigue.

Nothing like having loose hardware around a speaker.

I need the material characteristics really. The toroids are marked
FX1585/D4. I would imagine that D4 is the material.

So ideally...

Mix i.e. NiZn or MnZn?
Initial permeability
Saturation flux density
Loss factor at ? MHz
Graph of complex permeability vs. frequency
Graph of hysteresis loop at 25degC

I have measured the permeability at 500kHz and it's around 830, so I
would guess it is NiZn.

I want to make a transformer with two of these cores that can handle 50V
and 2.8A at HF, so need to know that the cores won't saturate.

Anything you can dig out would be appreciated.

Assume 1 Tesla, rarely is anything above 2T and sometimes as low as 0.5T,
but if only interest insat, it's a god first engineering pass. It's the
coercivity that will eat you alive here, though. But if you can measure,
you can do all on your samples.

1972 data for FX1586 only, specifically says 1585 discontinued , only
mentions grade/types of A and B and suffix numbers in 1972

Maybe not extreme, but it was clever, very clever...

I've rebuilt PCBs using epoxy to make flat surfaces and then used old
PCB repair trace kit to make replacement traces. Making a small PCB from
some good photos is certainly a good idea!

Extreme might be if you had to do this on the ISS (International Space
Station) for the life support logic PCB.

Or even Apollo 13. Crew saved by making a life-support CO2 filter from
plastic bag, a manual cover and gaffer tape, now that was extreme repair

True, but we were talking about extreme PCB repair. Loved the movie, and
remember the incident (I'm a wee bit north of 60 you might say).
