Well, when I put the diode in correctly (per the schematic), the hum reduced greatly and the amp draws about 30 watt less than before. When new caps arrive, I will try them out. Could also be that the diode was bad in the first place, not sure as this is the first time I checked it.

It could be that the original diode was Selenium which has much larger Vf.

This is clearly the case in images of this model and later schematics
also show a 2W 6K8 shunt resistor across the first filter cap.

When sizing a belt:

for example, an old flat, wide (10 mm?) capstan belt measures 9 inches on the
"belt measurer-thing", how much do you subtract when shopping for a
replacement size?

And for the 3-inch tape-counter belt (round cross-section, "o-ring")?

Thanks.

Hello,

I need a part from Philips (shaver HQ6890).

It is the power control board.

It is no more available.

If someone has this part, please help me.

I have a recurring problem of recharging the batteries.

They are brand new.

The charging process seems OK but no heat and batteries KO after 2 seconds.

The board is P/N 4822 214 13061.

The shaver doesn't operate with the mains power supply which is OK, so
it is a problem with the charging circuitry which is common to the motor
when operated with the mains.

I checked with the schematic, but everything interferes with
everything... it's quite a gas plant.

That bit of ebay for a guaranteed non-worker, for a parts-mule? is there
a generic name for that bit of flea-bay ?

Looking for roller rejuvenator that you can recommend (ie, have used). Not
Google results…

I've seen several brands, but it's hard to judge from a distance.

One personal recommendation beats a hundred choices.

Thanks!
I used to repair VCR's and always used Platenclens to revive the pinch
rollers. Also works well on audio tape deck rollers and printer rollers.

kenny

I'll second that, it works well on pinch rollers anyway, and isn't
particularly noxious.

It also isn't an aerosol despite being in a suspicious container, it's a
pump thing.

Well, that may be a good plan if you really need a color laser. I got a
color laser off the loading dock at work, it had a sticky clutch solenoid,
and after fixing that, it generally works. But, the print quality is
mediocre, and it uses a HUGE amount of toner every time you turn it on, or
if it has sat for more than 30 minutes, it has to "recalibrate".

But, I've had good luck fixing the 2 monochrome printers we have here.
