I don't think that is correct. I've had an S4 for years and don't remember
them making the plans for an adapter, to make it yourself, available.

Many of their adapters aren't just socket changers, many are multi-layered
and have some onboard logic.

I think the pricing is fair for them although some do get kind of expensive.
Just amazes me they keep supporting that thing (S4) being it's been out for
like 15 years now.

Sure they did, my 48XP manual even makes note of it, I went and looked
again. Even their on-line manual says they have it available for
download, but I couldn't find a current link on the site.

Yes, and the active sockets are not included in the list they had
available. The list is basically a programmer pin X goes to adapter
socket pin y kind of thing. I may just be losing my mind, but I am sure
it WAS there. How about a quick call to Dataman and ask?

I just dropped them a line and just asked.
They don't have an official S4 list, but they do have some of their
adapter pin outs in the XP/UXP download directory.

http://www.dataman.com/Pdf/Dataman48Adaptors.pdf

All you need to so is look up what adapter you need for the S4 and see
if that part number is listed in the adaptor list PDF. If it one of the
UNIV (universal) part numbers then it will work on the S4 as well as the
other programmers.

Those blocky symbols are an IEC standard. I find them utterly
unreadable.

I cannot get the 2.4GHz link working, works wired in , clipped together.
Anyone know what the secret is ?

The camera is outputting syncs only , rather than CVBS is the main problem,
anyone know if there is a secret way in ? I suspect as supposed to be
waterproof , then a matter of hacking in.
It would be much more useful with a clipped on close-up lens, for reading
script, surprisingly not supplied

Convinced myself hacking-in only.
I hacked in along the mould line and accessed the inside without further
damage. 22 way bridge between CCD plus 2x LED and rest of pcb, maybe
fudgeable for miniture 7x7x10 lens and ccd . Whole ,with current pcb, could
be easily cut down to 12x 7mm access port instead of 16mm original. Anyone
knows of a simple "elephant trunk" mechanical manipulator mechanism? very
stiff and unweildy spiral steel trunking umbilical as is.

uses wbcam type lens and CCD and Vimicro 44 pin

There is one high labor alternative that might work...

Take the current wire on the motor, and find the center, break it at
that point, so you have two 120 volt windings. Put in parallel for 120
volts, and series for 240 volts.

But, IMHO, hardly worth the effort, but technically feasible.

I'm not sure it's advisable either. There's every chance the enamel will
be damaged in the process. If he's lucky, any short will appear as soon
as he turns it on. If he's unlucky, it will occur when he's not looking.
