Wow ! I haven't heard that term for a long time. Same kit or similar

A growler is used to test for shorts, but won't test for opens. To test
for opens, one uses a simple ohm meter.

I'm never going to grow up.

The last reference I saw to one was in a '60s auto repair manual,
about rebuilding 12v generators.

Just an update. The extra set of RGB inputs on the jungle chip *was*
disabled in software. I got nothing there. So I just injected color
inputs at the RGB output pins. So its up and runnin', just some minor
tweaks to be done. Thanks everyone for the info....

Glad to see you got it going. I'm sorry I assumed you didn't know what
you're doing. Congratulations.

No harm done. It looks pretty damn good as of now, but I think the
bottleneck may be the RGB amp I built. I may look into an IC based
circuit that is a little more elegant than what I threw together from
whatever I could rob out of junk boards.

Well, there you go Phil! You re-entered the discussion and shot your own
foot off. Vile means repulsive and autistic means withdrawn and shithead
means you!

If you ever went to school, go see them (the headmasters) and demand that
your money (or that of your keepers) be returned.

20,000/year electrical fires, etc. in the UK according to:

3,000/year in Ontario Canada (about thirteen million folks):

Evasion? Numbers for both the US and UK were posted in this thread.
From what I saw, the UK is a huge tnderbox of poorly wired buildings.
Then, multiply the UK numbers by 5 to compare them to the US.

Probably the sockets were soldered onto the pcb without laying on a jig. So
misaligned when fixed onto chassis. So inbuilt stress in board combined with
the board being in the internal hot air flow to the fan
