No, I'm talking about coil voltage ratings.

I'm not 100% clear what you mean there. In short, many relays only
have one coil voltage rating, and its for just one of either ac or dc.
The various ones I've seen that have coil 2 ratings, one for ac one
for dc, have consistently had the dc coil rating be half the ac
voltage rating.

Peak force would come into play when dealing with stiction, but a
relay would have to be on its very last legs for stiction to be
significant in practice.

This Tv (a CRT SHARP 63DS-05SN), when started form cold, will
sometimes work normally, but mostly you get the EHT and heaters on, no
audio and a blank raster. raising the SCREEN gives the expected
greenish raster with retrace lines. Looks like a micro /EEPROM fault,
yet the green LED flashes when the remote is pressed, which I woudn't
expect.
The psu secondary apparently supplies two 5v lines, one being for
standby, and 5v ends up at Q2400 and Q2401 before going to the ICs. I
intend to check this supply
Anyone seen this before?

Just got that 2246 yesterday. Very cool so far as functions are concerned;
the front panel controls seem just a bit chintzy compared to the 465, but
still OK really. Not in current cal, but time base and vertical amplitude
seem to be quite accurate and I'm not doing government work after all, just
consumer electronics.
Only had time to fool around with it a bit, still need to figure out more of
the menus etc.
Looks like very low hours but in view of the preceding comments by those who
know this model, I certainly won't be just leaving it on all the time... in
the past I've been known to leave a 'scope on most of the day and not even
think about it, aside from taking the usual steps to avoid screen burn that
is.
Question: Does the "Mod A" designation on the rear mean this is a "2246A"
model?

No,that was a custom mod(Modified Product),IIRC,for the Navy. That's about
all I can recall about it.
Tek's documentation for "modified products" got really bad after they did
away with that section of the microfiche(after downsizing Service
Support,who compiled the info...dumb move,TEK.).
If you don't have the original manual with the modified product
inserts, there's no way you can get the documentation. Probably the
difference is in the EPROMs,adding some oddball feature.
It was really hard to get parts for those modified products, had to special
order them, and wait months, literally. they essentially were hand-made.
But a lot of those Mod A's were made.

If you're in the United States there is a DOD database of military
manuals that may have a scan of the original manual for that military
version. I can't think of the name at the moment, and am still trying to
recover about 20 GB of damaged files after a failed hard drive & corrupt
backup files. Only 32 GB has been recovered, after three weeks.

OK. Thanks Phil. That goes along with some that I found on Digikey, that
seemed to have a similar looking pinout, and also claimed to be of Panasonic
manufacture - although of course, their picture helpfully said "for
illustrative purposes only" ... They are in a Peavey Escort, but of
course, Peavey UK are out of stock until the end of October at soonest, and
the equipment is needed by next week ...

Hmmm... only one and a half days 'visiting friends in West Palm Beach'
(if he was ever there to begin with), and the rest of his time in
Florida spent real-life stalking. He even extended his stay by two
days, so he could get in more stalking.

Some Panasonics in the past were very critical of factory-original IC's. I
once had a Pan portable as a test set in the workshop. It had a failed field
chip when it first became mine. I recall replacing it with one of the same
basic number out of the stock drawer, but the set never did work right, with
all sorts of beam limiter problems as the brightness of scenes varied.
Eventually, on the advice of a colleague who'd come across this before, I
ordered in a genuine replacement from Pan. After fitting this, it worked
just fine.

Just because gear runs 24/7 does not exempt the possibility of moisture
intrusion. Ask a marine electronics tech and get back to me. Bar that,
operating electronics in high humidity 24/7 holds no guarantee that it is
not exempt to moisture. Read the fucking manual for the operating
extremes if you doubt me.

Wow, yer Emmett Gulley stupid today, hey.
Did I tell you yer my Emmett, and soon you'll be everyone's Emmett?
It's happening.
So, now yer changing the terms of the argument to suit you... so yer
saying the glue is a 'moisture trap' in a marine environment or in
high humidity? Yeah, I guess next you'll argue that if the glue's
under water, it's a 'moisture trap'. Heh.
Do you even know what the term 'carbonization' means, you slack-jawed

Nevermind that West Palm Beach, FL is 110 miles (not 60 miles) from
Melbourne, FL.

Hmmm... only one and a half days 'visiting friends in West Palm Beach'
(if he was ever there to begin with), and the rest of his time in
Florida spent real-life stalking. He even extended his stay by two
days, so he could get in more stalking.

Tony Sale obituary
Computer scientist behind the rebuilding of the wartime code-breaking
Colossus
Tony Sale, who has died aged 80, was responsible for rebuilding the second
world war Colossus code-breaking computer and for launching a successful
campaign to preserve the Bletchley Park cryptography centre for the nation.
The operation at Bletchley, Buckinghamshire, shortened the second world war
by many months, but for almost three decades its existence was one of
Britain's best kept secrets. When the war was over, the 10 Colossi -
considered by many to be the world's first electronic computers - were
broken up and the people who had built and worked with them were sworn to
secrecy for ever. ...

I work for a large university and have no say over what products are
chosen for our various projects. Extron doesn't support outside
repair so we don't have any contact with their service or engineering
departments. The reason we use the Sympodium is because some
professors demand them. Chuck

Maybe the case is not at "ground" voltage, so the tubing is to act as
an insulator to prevent shocking anyone working on the eqeuipment.
