N_Cook <diverse@tcp.co.uk>: Jun 01 03:18PM +0100 Generic term perhaps? Say you have 10 different IR remotes around the house. If one gets lost, broken, eaten by dog etc, if any replacement can be found it probably won't have all the menu functions, say. Is there some sort of multiple bank learning/store remote, say selecting 1 of 20 banks of 30 buttons, each bank. If one remote has 3 modes of 30 buttons then use up 3 banks. Store to its EEProm , remove the batteries and physically store somewhere safe, with notes of what each bank does. Then if one is lost etc, then purchase a basic learner r/c and transfer the relevant data. |
N_Cook <diverse@tcp.co.uk>: Jun 01 03:11PM +0100 Getting inside a TV for the all too common reason, to divert the crappy internal speakers to something decent, ie larger for some bass, externally. 3 caps on the ps marked "G-LUX" 470uF, 10V gold and black all with exactly the same degree of bulge. No problem with the TV. Google images shows none of that type. No other G-Lux examples on the boards to compare with. They have the incised Y type of end to the cap. While inside took some data, perhaps useful for someone sometime. Meh, easy to say but even idiots probably have friends and family who care about them for whatever reason. Even this idiot probably got a mother. I figure it's worth at least one attempt to dissuade idiots from bad ideas, for Mom's sake at least. If they double-down, well...it's in the hands of Fate, protector of fools. |
