JJ Lark <cbr6850@nospamverizon.net>: Apr 18 10:07AM -0400 Have a box fan and, since not being satisfied with existing solder fume filter because I have to be within 6" of opening, I purchased one of these filters and placed across the box fan: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Filtrete-20x20x1-Allergen-Plus-Odor-Reduction-HVAC-Furnace-Air-Filter-1200-MPR-1-Filter/36728389 Appealed to me since it already has built in charcoal filter as well. Won't be tested until this week. Thoughts? |
"Peter W." <peterwieck33@gmail.com>: Apr 18 07:51AM -0700 Thoughts? Good idea given and if the goal is to capture the rosin fumes. Greater surface area will capture more fumes. My general approach is to run the ceiling fan in the room - it is a small room, so that is enough to move the fumes away from me. I do not solder enough to justify a dedicated system - perhaps when I retire not so long from now. Peter Wieck Melrose Park, PA |
legg <legg@nospam.magma.ca>: Apr 17 02:37PM -0400 Working on RCA RNSMU4336, SN A1901272410000314, with screen rendition issues, for any/no input. Display stretched, gradually moving off-screen towards the left, eventually (~minutes) displaying black screen (all lamps functioning). All power circuits functioning, until VDGAWR1 shuts off (black). Haven't had much luck getting response from regular service channels in Canada and web search hasn't produced much info. Any hints? When the image is moving left, spray it the main board with freeze spray to see if the cold has any effect. |
