Hello, all and a new POTS Verizon problem:

My OP about the ability to receive incoming but not able to dial out or
have the calling party hear the called party was explained as a faulty
2-wire/4-wire interface issue which I understood. I had called Verizon
service and the phone was restored to normal operation after about 4
days. I don't know exactly what was done (if anything). Phone service
has been OK for about 2 weeks.

Last Sunday that same phone line displayed a new symptom - no dial tone
but the DTMF keypad produces audio and there is noise on the line (like
what you hear between entering the digits of a phone number).
Attempting to dial the problem phone number from a cell phone resulted
in a busy signal. It wasn't an off-hook situation as you could hear a
definite switching action when a phone on the problem line was taken off
hook. Ditto for any one of the 3 extensions sharing the line. This
morning, Monday, the phone line was operating as expected. Very
mysterious goings on here. Sincerely,

I've a few laying around, that I have a local community use for one, but
don't know how to use it. 0 to 10 bar, but the manufacturer's model
number gives nothing on google. No idea if bridge of strain gauges,
active vibration mode or what.
5 wires plus screen, about 40/45 Kohm mutually between 3 wires , no ohms
with/between the other 2 wires and no DVM-D test forward voltage on any
wire to wire connection either way round.

Found some other types in the bottom of the box,Transamerica make, with
a bit of data photo-copied. Unfortunately 0 to 25 bar , but .1mV per
foot depth of water with testing ,will just about be ok, proof of
principle anyway

Hey Thekma,
There were so many choices for best sound quality smart phone. But it depends on your budget. If you are looking for some reasonable good sound quality phone try Alcatel Onetouch X1. Its a very attractive phone with excellent sound quality .

I'm new here so I don't really know all the info I should post. Before I do anything to this radie i'd like to get a few suggestions, please. TIA.

I have a jvc rv-b99gy Kaboom boom box that once turned off will not turn on again with the power button or remote. It has to be unplugged and plugged back up again. There are no batteries in it. All of the functions seem to work' via remote or chassis buttons, except for turning back on again. I can't turn it on with either the remote or chassis buttons.
It did work correctly a week ago. Nothing that i know of happened too it in the meantime.

Check for a small transformer that delivers a 5V standby voltage. There may be poor solder connections around that area. No standby, no CPU and no control. The 5V will drive a crystal that is what the CPU is based upon. Even the chassis button is read by the CPU.

No, they did not "fool" you. You made a fool of yourself if your goal was not to purchase a "Kenmore" machine. A simple google search would have told you who makes what.

We purchase name-brand appliances from the makers whose actual name is on the faceplate. Kenmore is NOT one of those. Full Stop.

You can certainly ask the OP, Aardvarks (a well known Apple hating nym
switching troll), to refrain from including that group. Just don't hold
your breath.
