My buddy has an older Mercedes convertible and he needs a microswitch for the convertible top control.

I found a couple of companies in Germany that have them, a couple on ebay (Germany), but no one ships to the U.S. and I have been unable to locate one here on this continent.

This switch has two, well, tits that physically hold it in place, so he's not happy about adapting something else as it took some maneuvering to get it out.

Anyone have a lead to one that I can get shipped to this third world nation?

Thanks.

One of the companies in Germany responded to my inquiry as to whether they ship to the U.S. and their reply said they stopped shipping to the U.S. (territories) and Canada in 1991 due to "product liability". Thanks asshole lawyers..

Would any one of our Euro friends be willing to act as an intermediary for John-Del?

I know you are not into adaptation - but these may be close enough to fit such that all you will need to do is adapt the connectors. On the other hand, I am frankly astounded that Mercedes does not have, or cannot get the part directly. did you ask?

Can anyone give me a ballpark on the DCR of this particular
small tube-PSU-type transformer to plug into PSU Designer II?

** Assuming the tranny has a regulation factor of 10%, that equates to 6 volts copper loss on the primary under full load.

Rated load is 36 VA plus a little for Imag gives 40VA.

So the primary current with resistive load is 0.33amps rms.

Makes the primary R = 18ohms.

A similar, 240V tranny would have four times the primary R.

Mouser has an ECAD model info on that transformer - but no stock:

Here is the Hammond classic xformer page:

Looks like 269JX is close to the 6K88VG.

Wanted to follow up thanks everyone for the help it was a indeed a
dual-dual potentiometer failure, cracked, possibly from the unit being
dropped. PLUS a damaged or cracked trace on the TL072 V+ bus causing
lack of power. $5 in pots and a couple jumpers and it's back up and
working fine. oddly the exterior looks undamaged so who knows how
exactly it occurred.
